"P-please... s-s-top!" the cat-former in Warhead's grasp managed to gurgle out past the mech-fluid pooling out through her oral cavity. Her body twitched and groaned against her restraints as the huge vulture-bomber standing over her continued to saw her way into the defenseless femme's laser-core.
Deaf to the small cat-girl's pleas, Warhead wrenched open the unsealed core and looked over the rhythmic pulse of the Spark inside. For a moment Warhead seemed transfixed by the soft glow, green lines and patterns streaking across her visor.
But then she reached forward and tore the light from the shell, dousing it between her sickle-like talons. The catgirl gave and shudder and flopped limply to the table. Warhead then began to record in detail the pattern of nanite death as it spread throughout the now deceased Shell.
"Hmmm... interesting... the exterior nanite-decay seems slower around the interior laser-core than in previous subjects. Hypothesis; cat-former body's singular alt-mode may contribute to this phenomenon."
She looked around at all the various caged... experiments, and spare parts surrounding her. The enormous facility was lined wall to wall with them, and filled with the rattling of their cage bars, and shrieking.
The work conditions were horrendous.
Warhead loved them.
Yellow bars and symbols scanned across what served as her face as she looked over the various creatures and bodies lining her lab and suddenly the lines went from yellow to red.
"I need more bodies."

"I hope she filled out the appropriate forms." Came a distainful voice from near the entrance. Crestrunner was walking down the stairs in his more battle-oriented armor attire, which was never a good thing in previous experience. More often then not this meant another limitation or some sort was on the way. He had grown distainful for Warhead's continual existance since Deva's takeover of the company... which seems to have grown and grown over time. As he walks up to the table, he can't help but glance towards the former employee of the company before replying calmly. "So what exactly were you treating her for?..." Despite this, he does manage to pull out a datapad and pull up a list of Warhead's currently in work experiments, trying to find out who has been stuck in this hellhole the longest.

Red zig-zag patters struck along Warhead's visor, but she didn't bother to turn and regard the source of her interruption. She was far too focused on the job at hand.
"The subject suffered from terminal stupidity," Warhead stated blandly as she recorded several more notes.
"And I have no intention or inclination to waste my efforts on your useless bureaucracy," she stated turning over to regard him contemptuously.
She then grabbed the catgirl and ripped her free from the table to toss onto a steadily growing pile of deceased body-shells.
"Make yourself useful and bring me more materials, or get out of my sight. You're more an eyesore than these failures."

Crestrunner just chuckles for a moment, entirely amused by Warhead's responses at this point. "Ah, well, at least we can agree on something then. As much as the others feel this has been.... profitting... enough of them agree there hasn't quite been as much as we can gain at this point." He responds, walking over to the pile of corpses to see if he can recognize any of them. "So we've decided to take your own approach to the situation if things don't improve. I was the only member of the board willing to personally tell you this.... if there are not improvements in your 'research'... well... I'm afraid to say you'll soon be an experiment yourself. We've had some uniquely orientated spark specialists join our employment recently." He pauses for a moment, looking over one corpse as he pulls a cloth from a storage section of his armor to clean some residue from it's face. "And I'm sure once they find out... what they're working on... they would be quite happy to try to improve you."

Amused green swirls twisted and turned over the surface of Warhead's screen, and she finally turned her full attention towards the much smaller transformer. Her enormous body towering over him.
"Are you threatening me? I've removed more frightening germs from a petri dish. I've looked Lord Megatron in the optics. Next to that, nothing frightens me."
She scoffed, "And maybe if I was a true employee and not some confined slave, I could perhaps muster up the needed motivation to fulfill your ridiculous quota."

Crestrunner looks back with an stern expression, seemingly not put off by the scientist's threats. "And I've been stuck in a condition considered weak even by our race's diverse standards for the last couple months. If we really gave into that request, would it even be worth it? I know your history..." Even as the larger mech gets closer, Crestrunner stays quite calm at this point. "I'm surprised though... I thought you would be happy for once to be the subject of experimentation after all. Or have you changed your mind about your eventual self-autopsy?"

Warhead's expressionless visor was suddenly colored by wide-sweeping orange rings.
"That, Carbuncle, is between myself and my shell. Although, if you truly knew my history, you'd appreciate the degree of success I'm known for when given carte blanche."
Her talons tightened, "Something I can't have while locked in a basement by pathetic half-breeds."

"Success? By the mere law of averages milady, you really didn't have much at all from what I've heard. Oh, when something was successful... there was high praise indeed. But how many subjects did you never 'finish' in that aspect?" Crestrunner responds lightly, dropping the datapad on the counter. Part of him wants to lash out, this is true... but he enjoys her looks of frustration far too much to give her that satisfaction. "As pathetic as we are... we've still a better record against forces such as Unicron."

"Allegedly so, but I wasn't there to validate your claim, now was I?"
Warhead's thrusters raised slightly along her shoulders, but rather than lose her temper, her visor suddenly went flat black. Her voice came through calmly.
"These subjects are just sacrifices to me. I didn't expect nor want each one to amount to more than a curiosity. This era's obsession with how precious life is is an ill development and it stunts progress to a crawl so do not come to me and hold my work to your standards."
She threw open one of the cages and suddenly grasped the crying subject inside, slowly dragging her out to show her superior.
"Observe how little this thing's life means to me."
She grasped her tightly by the torso in both hands and with a strangled scream, tore the small transformer in half, throwing the halves to the floor.
"And now I know the stress-limit of this build-types. She died for a reason."
She walked up to Crestrunner and leaned in close so that their faces were barely an inch apart. "If you don't like how I do things than just scrap me. If you do, then leave me my freedom to work as I see fit. I will not be forced to make miracles in these conditions for even a micro-second longer."

Crestrunner stays his ground, staring back at the larger techno-organic with just as focused a gaze. One eyebrow twitches as the transformer is torn apart before his eyes, but at this point... it's just so much sweeter if he lets her bring herself to her own destruction. "It's not a matter of 'lives' so much as it is a matter of not wasting resources. Or was your kind not forced to pillage whatever they came across just to keep themselves functional in a time of war? Every life is a resource fully capable of being used to one's advantage longer then any death you would suffer upon them. If it is 'freedom' you require, then fine. But don't come to me when you find yourself a target by those who you could be controlling. It's the only reason the decepticons lost. Too many idiots too concerned with their own interests to see the finer points of manipulation and control that would have turned the populace to their side." He goes silent before starting to head towards the door.

As Crestrunner made is way back up the lift, a soft feminine voice spoke out from behind him, suddenly alerting him to the fact that he was not alone.
"This is idiotic."
Casually, Prowlwing stepped out from the shadow and crossed her arms, leaning against the far wall.
"She's just going to go out to the surface, likely cause incalculable damages to this company, and get herself killed. You've read her record. It reads like a B-Horror film. She's just another Decepticon psychopath. Taking her on was a mistake from the beginning."
She narrowed her optics and added, "Her type is incapable of change. Her and her little freak we have working up by the gate. I'll say it again. It'd be smarter and easier if we simply liquidate the problem now."

"Oh, I know. This is a liquidation of sorts." Crestrunner responds calmly. "That's why I'm letting her out to be honest... with a warning to the local authorities of course of our problems. She'll be 'free'... but watched by the predacon police. Preferably by snipers." He turns in Prowlwing's direction before continuing, crossing his own arms. The content look on his face is a bit creepy compared to his usual calm demeaner. "First sign of problems, she'll be put down... and it'll be another mark on Payload's record of bad mistakes. Saw Boss on the other hand... Gripkiller's turned him into her own little project. I don't know why and I'm a little afraid to ask. But he's still proven useful."

Prowlwing's optics narrowed in a cruel smirk, and she shrugged.
"As usual, you think you're smarter than you are. So very cute."
She paced over to the opposite wall beside Crestrunner and placed an eerie looking red vial in his hand.
"While you may think you have everything under control, I'm sure you have as much of an idea what that is as I do," She said with a grin.
"I found it hidden among her lab. Disturbing little capsule, no?" She placed her hands on her hips. "And that's not all of it. There were several more."

Crestrunner's eyes narrow for a moment as he looks over the container, his expression souring just as quickly. There had been no notes of this substance in any of the security logs nor her recorded findings... "Slag. Have her ...subjects locked down in containment until we can examine this further. I promised her freedom... but I never said anything about full continued access to her creations as well." He responds softly, trying to find some sort of labeling on the container. At least that's what it looks like at the moment, unless he's trying to coerce the container into spilling it's secrets... "We'll need to take this down to the other labs of course. Whatever it is, she hasn't used it on herself... there wouldn't be so many unused samples to examine after all." He adds as he starts to walk down the corridor.

Prowlwing followed along after him, smiling contentedly.
"You know, seeing you flustered tends to make my day a happy one."
She thought for a moment and added, "This accounts for the vials I found... but suppose she has some on her person? You did just let her out of the facility."
