The blasts seem to make their mark, tearing into the creature's head like a grenade tossed into sickly black taffy. The creature stumbles back, roaring... or at least it seems to be ATTEMPTING to roar despite the massive damage to its head as more of it splits open to the sides, leaving a sickly, inhuman even by transformers gurgling sound as it seems to be trying to form some kind of replacement of a head. For the moment however, it is definitely open to continuous fire at any rate.

Which Howls was all for; she opened up with everything she had while trying to get a message out to the sector police. She was a little worried the coms where compromised, but she needed a clean up team.

The result was a splattering crunch of circuitry and good as what had regrown of the head of the creature imploded on itself. It was a well timed hit that sent the creature's carcass barreling towards the floor without control. Despite this, more sections of it seem to power down in an attempt to send more power to whatever was causing it's freakish regeneration.

"Why won't you just die already you slagger?" Howls growled as she poured all her extra power into reducing the thing into a glowing puddle of sludge. A heads up display flashed in her vision and she could see that her power supplies where starting to drop. Another growl was directed at the protoform in her body, and her self for getting into this state.

Howls continued assault seems to have finally damaged something critical in the creature's systems, causing more and more of it to dissolve into a bizzare looking black nannite flood on the ground. In fact, parts of it seem to be evaporating as if the thing was designed to leave behind no corpse. The sounds of other officers moving in on their way can be heard in the distance, even as what doesn't dissolve on the creature starts to creep towards a nearby sewer grate. Even worse, there's little sign to prove it had previously been an Autotrooper other then basic colors...

"Slag this is not gonna look good in a report." Howls grumbled as she located a container and debated trying to get a sample of the strange nanites. But her adventures in motherhood to be had taught (somewhat any way) her not to think her actions through so she chose instead to block the sewer grate with what she could.

What of the material that could be blocked by the container started to squirm and press against it as it tried to follow it's 'brethen', the individual broken pieces acting like what the earthlings called slugs as they slipped and sludged their way to hopeful freedom. Some of it seems to jerk towards her hands, sensing a living being but it doesn't seem to have the speed to get ahead of her own awareness just yet. Interesting enough, her scanners are starting to pick up more information on the material as it continues to move, though those pieces that remain do not maintain the blacken, corrupted appearance of the initial remains. It's almost as if what evaporated off of the creature was whatever had caused such a change, leaving her readings of the material as that of protoplasmic nannites. Almost primodial, or in their infant stages at the least it seems... it could have easily have come from a failed or damaged protoform container. Definitely not on par with what should have formed such a complex beast as the autotrooper 'mutant'.

"What the slag?" Howls muttered as she pulled her hand back, and backed everything she was picking up into a removable storage device. She had a broad understanding of bot physiology and a loose grasp of what made them up due to her training, but most of what she was getting was over her head.

TM2DB was the first of the rookies to arrive on the scene, followed by others. He transformed into Robot Mode for a second, tail whip in hand as if he was expecting some sort of fight. Regardless, the lack of violence other then the damage caused by Howlback's fight wiht the creature left him a bit confused. "Commander Howlback? We received a distress call from this location... Is everything alright?" He asked with a concerned tone, even as he transformed back into beast mode and started to scout out the area with his animal senses. He seems surprised as he moves towards where the remains of the creature had been... something drawing him over.

"whoa there, get a harzmat team here, that ... thing was infected with something I think." Howls said as she held up a hand. "I need to get a decon cycle. But no everything isn't all right. I got attacked by something that was posing as a trooper."

TM2DB nodded back to the senior detective as he hopped back. "Understood ma'am. I was just.. there were familiar chemical traces to me. It has remnants of materials used in the old protoform forges.. outside of town." He pauses for a moment but anyone with a knowledge of his record knew where he knew it. The young mech had been a parf of the Neo Predacons, a group of "reborn" clones forced to work ubder unicron's influence during his latest incursion on this world. Their leader had been known for genetic manipulation on this level...

Howls blinked and accessed the relevant files. "Huh. It looks like you're right. Well riddle me this then: what would someone get by using old forms to create a rampaging beast, and would they stop at one? And what's so special about this place that they'd have one guarding it?"

TM2DB thinks on this for a moment. "They may be old... but they are still used in plentiful amounts since theyre so easy to make. Some of the older cadets have mentioned that veterans not willing to wait for a retrofit body took on autotrooper shells to get back on the field." He shifts for a moment as more arrive, tail swishing in the air. "They're anonymous... they blend in with each other like the old Vehicon shells of Megatrons former rank and flank. Easy to infilfrate. As for this location... There must be something hidden here... which is odd since it burned down, that fiasco with slingshots grandson. What could we have missed investigating that?...."

"that's part of why I was here. got a tip something wasn't kosher." Howls admitted. What DB had said made sense. To much. "Be a cheep way to make an invisible army."

TM2DB nods for a moment in response, before looking at the remains as the others arrived on the scene. "Ma'am... those faint chemical signatures are fresh. Too fresh, I believe this creature had been a recent creation." He pauses on this for a moment. "We could look at the underbelly of the building. I'm sure there's an old access tunnel around here somewhere. Before our... freedom, my combiner compatriots would often use this area to sneak into the city. Or... it might be wise to investigate the old forges. If this creature was created in the same place as I think... there might be more evidence there to examine."
