Howlback prowled the shadows across the street from the building Marrow had said Scarabus had seen Jetstorm. she felt the stirring within her womb, and a warm feeling left over from her trip to the doctors earlier. the little one was doing well, had accepted the DNA, creating a snake-panther fuzor that if their extrapolations where correct about would be an impressive bot. Some worries about it's gender identity though, it seemed it was displaying odd traits, like the child might be being effected by something in her environment.
"Focus Howls." she growled to herself as she shifted to bot mode and ran a scan over the building.

The scans seemed to show what had appeared in the reports for the most part... The power grids did not match up with the ones that were registered with the building. It was as if the place had been completely stolen despite the improbabilitiy of such an event. As she continues to examine things, there are residual signs of footprints moving away from the building... the only sign anyone had ever been there really despite the destruction they had seen. A single Autotrooper unit drives by the location on it's usual route. However Howlback's scans might pick up a brief moment of an anomaly inside of the unit which quickly disappears. As if it were a trick of the light.

Howls barely glanced at the trooper, other then to mutter something about rookies and not having back up in this neighborhood. She sighed and activated a signal channel. She didn't want to, but right now the Garble drone's scanners where better then her own for the CSI work. She'd put him on it while she followed the tracks.
>>You are off duty ma'am, and should not be...<
>>Shut up. I need you for a change, so come to my location and do your job.<<

As Howl waits for the drone to arrive, she can't help but feel like her hair should be standing on end. Unlike the previous time any of the officers were here, there's a sense of something... not right about the area. Terrans would have called it a haunting, but she can't help but feel she's being watched even though there is no source for the feeling. The Autotrooper turns a corner up ahead, starting to move out of range... As it does, her short range scanners pick up another 'glitch' as she saw from it inside of the building.

Shivering Howls ran her optics and sensors through every frequency she could think of recording the readings for later review. As she did so she focused on the glitch in the trooper as she activated a com to him. >Rookie, when you're off duty, check with a medic, you've got something wrong with your systems.<

It's a brief flicker, but Howlback manages to catch a small glimps of... something horribly wrong with the rookie under infrared. Unlike most techno-organics, the inside of the autotrooper is composed of an eerie solid and pitch cold mass. There's not even signs of the muscular structure the Autotroopers had before they turned Techno-organic. However, it's only a brief flicker before she sees the obvious techno-organic insides it should have. >Understood commander, heading to prencint now.< It's cold and eerie tone makes it sound more like a threat then anything else.

Howl's eyes narrowed as she switched bands. >Gar, run this profile through our rosters.< she ordered as she transmitted all the data she could to the drone. involuntarily, she palmed her weapons and checked the charge on them, and made sure her kinetic shields where working at peak.

What little information didnt seem right despite the obvious solution. The auto trooper had been a star graduate of Stormrave Academy, someone more likely to be a detective like herself. Not the nameless rank and file before herself. As it turns around a corner, theres the sharp and eerie howl of a predator on the loose. This contiues even as a loud crunching sound could be heard as if metal was crunching metal.

"The slag?" Howls muttered as she took two running steps and transformed to her beast mode to lop down the street to see what the heck had just happened.

As she reached the area the sound had come from... all that could be found were bits and pieces of torn apart armor laying about. It almost looked liked something had torn the autotrooper apart in one swooping motion, like in Skullcruncher's old days of toying with his 'food. There was a sharp growl from above as a large... something leaps off of the roof, attempting to pounce on the detective with it's awesome mass.

The words that came out of Howl's mouth would have made even the crudest of the Old Guard Decepticon's blush as her combat training took over. While her absorption shield did little against kinetic force, if her attacker had any shock systems or energy laced claws, they'd drain off most of the zap. She fed discretionary power into the feed back portion of her shields as she dove and rolled for what ever cover was close at hand.
A twinge within her body extracted a gasp of ... not pain, but something very close to it from her as she pressed her back against something solid. Maybe she should have stayed home.

Whatever the creature's origin, it snarls as it continues to charge and lash at Howl with it's claws. They seem coated with energon... though there's a black sludge oozing from the creature's eyes and mouth as well. It almost looks like it's wearing an Autotrooper corpse by the style of armor on it's body, though it's clearly techno-organic. As it continues to chase her across the street, she might notice that it's very presence is cutting off... or at least jamming any communication channels she might have on her. It leaps for her again, claws posed forward...

"Mkay, not a nice kitty." Howls muttered as she flipped her blasters into her hands and opened fire at the things center of mass. Controls fire, just as she'd been taught. Aiming to kill. When it got to close she shifted and ran in cat form. Service and report...

Howl's controlled fire meets it's mark as the creature tumbled away from her transforming form, snarling and howling at the air. The wounds she's made on the creature seem to be seeping more of the black ooze as it struggles to it's feet for a moment, a horrible crackling sound as more plates crack into place. It seems to be drawing more armor from the 'suit' around itself as it starts to bound after the detective.... though that seems to be leaving less armor to protect the head.

"Stupid." Howls said to herself as she bounded away in feline form, looking for high ground. She let out a mental grumble and made a not to upgrade her beast form weapons when she survived this. She so needed to be able top fire behind her...
Spotting a place she could jump up, she took it and transformed again, her weapons coming into hand again. She flipped them to full power and took a bead on the beasts head. Slowing her pump she waited to between pulses and then fired...
