"Log 32060. This is Day 10 of me of the investigation and attempt to cure the mysterious virus." The young virologist started to speak into the camera "My latest attempt ended in failure. The virus adopted to a combination of high powered antivirus and cyber drugs of my own design ended in failure. Attempts to create a vaccine from the....Seacon virus, also ended in failure. The virus itself manages to attack and reprogram the weakened strain of the virus back into working order and made it more stronger as well. Not getting any new information from my latest finding neither. The only thing I seem to get so far is that it affect Cybertronians who has aquatic beast modes. Well, that's what I first thought. After further research, the virus also causes others to be inflicted with an additional aquatic beast mode. This strand is not anything I've seen before. I tried to see what kind of virus is or what its related to so I can use the basis for a cure or a vaccine. Other than a slight relation to Cosmic Rust, nothing. It's not a malware. It might be a trojan since it seems to function as one. I don't know what it is. I'll run another analysis to see if I can come up with anything. I've tried various vaccines, antivirus, and cyber drugs to treat the virus, but to no success. I've attached the results and notes on the virus. If you got anything that help at all, notes, genetic structure, anything, please send anything you got to me. I'll continue my research. This ends my report. Pandemic, logging out."
Pandemic sighs as he ends the log and prepares to send his log to his superiors back at home. After he hits the send button on his computer, he slumps back in his chair, and looks at the ceiling. Ten days since he was here. Ten days he stayed whole up in the medbay, trying to solve the mystery of the new virus that costed them a teammate. A virus that he has never seen before or how to combat it. And he's not getting anywhere with it. The opossum grabbed a bottle of hand sanitizer and squeeze some of it into his hand. Sure he was 80% hardware, but he has no intent of making others sick. After he rubbed his hands together to spread the sanitizer, he runs a internal viral scan on himself. Just to make sure there's nothing wrong with him. Again.
"Still nothing, Pandemic?" A female voice called out to him.
Pandemic turns to see who it was calling him. It was the head medic and his superior, Mantessa at the door with a tablet. The young virologist relaxed a little to see her. He shook his head no. "It's not related to anything I've seen before." he stated "The closet thing to the Seacon Virus, is Cosmic Rust. But only 5% and it also affects bots with AND without aquatic beast modes. Outside of that, nothing. I'm running another analysis and mock treatment again in a little while."
"You've been going at it since you came here." She told him "In fact, I never see you leave the medbay much neither. You practically live here." Seeing him holed up in the medbay doing work and not interacting with his peers wasn't her or the staff is a little worrying for her. As much as she wants to get her man back, she's not willing to abuse Pandemic just to get the cure. The fact that Pandemic gets nervous around people don't help him out a lot neither. "Why not take a break. The virus and the notes are still going to be here when you get back. Running yourself ragged isn't doing you no favors. Trust me on that one."
"I know, I know, I know, but I'm trying to crack this, Ms. Tessa." Pandemic addressed "The answer is there somewhere. I know it is! I just have to keep searching until I get a answer." Pandemic typed a few buttons and send his report over back to Devacorp.

"Sometimes we need to stop in our tracks to find the best path forward Pandemic." Another of his patients spoke up from their bed in the room. Silverfang had taken a lot of damage in the battle, enough that he was still under technical quarantine should he exhibit the Seacon change. It did not sit well on him to be confined like this... it reminded him too much of the cramped caves he and his extended families called home in their dimension. "This cosmic rust, I have not heard of it before. You say the corruption shows familiarity with it? Where does Cosmic Rust come from?" What he had seen on the field brought back memories of the cybertron he had hailed from... but he was no doctor. And he had never seen it reconfigure with such... specific outcome. If it was the same disease, he could not confirm this so he had kept quiet while he recovered.

The young medic agreed with Silverwing. He agreed wholeheartedly. Seeing he's practically working himself to the ground, maybe he might need to step back and look at it from another perspective. "Silverwing, you're suppose to be resting. Rest keeps the bug away you know?" He voiced his concerns. He doesn't want his patient to exacerbate the Seacon virus if he has it. He knows talking isn't a physically taxing activity, but one can't be safe. When he heard that he hasn't about cosmic rust, Pandemic was a bit puzzled that his patient doesn't know about Cosmic Rust. It's practically common knowledge among CYbetronians. "He's not around here, dear. He and his people haven't heard about it." Mantessa told Pandemic before he can question as to why he hasn't heard of cosmic rust. Regardless, he decides to give them a quick lesson about Cosmic Rust. He straightens himself up and spins his chair around to face, Silverwing and his other patients. "I'm very glad you asked that question, Silverwing. The cosmic rust originated in the planet of Antilla," he started to explain "well, it actually started there. An asteroid having the strand landed there. Because of that, we don't know of Cosmic Rust's true origins. Others have been trying to figure it out for who knows how long. I actually investigate it myself but to no avail. Cosmic rust is actually what it is. Rust. But a fast acting, sapient rust. Well, that's what everybody thought first, but after some research, it's less of a rust and more of a fast acting, metal eating bacteria."
One of Pandemic's patient quietly groaned in annoyance and tried to get back to sleep. "I was supposed to be in quarantine, not a biology lesson." Blackwing complained.
"And as to your other question, the Cosmic Rust and Seacon Virus shows a small familiarity as to how it works. Like the rust, the seacon virus destroys metal or technorganic flesh by rusting. Or a similar process like that. But instead of destroying metal, it reconstructs it....rebuilds it. Like I said, Silverwing, it has a small familiarity. If it does have a human counterpart, I should say a cancer at least."
"And this is why he's Placebo's best pupil." Mantessa happily chimes in. Pandemic blushes a bit from her compliment.

Silverfang took in the information, weighing his thoughts as the young doctor explained his theories. He couldn't help but smile at Mantessa's comment, offering his own two cents. "Indeed, you are a fine doctor Pandemic. On my home w- colony, you would have been greatly appreciated." He comments, remembering at the last moment his and his team's inter-dimensional origins were deemed classified. "It's interesting that you've made that comparison however... it reminds me of something I've seen back home, something that worked too much like that which the terrans called cancer. My people called those inflicted with it the Fallen... their bodies would reconfigure... weaken... until they fell apart. It claimed my mother's spark..." He explained, solemn at the memories of his lost home and family. "However, like your cosmic rust... it did not neccessarily improve those inflicted. The force that brought it as a weapon, they were identified as originating from the 7th Cosmos... I wish I had more to give in information." He rubs the back of his head in frustration.

If the young virologist/medic could blush, he would be as red as Sideswipe's chassis. This is one of the first few times he gotten a compliment and not insults or put downs. "W-Well, thank you very much." Pandemic remember what Silverfang said. "My condolences, Silverwing. That must have been awful," he told Silverwing. "I wish there was something I can do..." Pandemic went quiet for a moment and remember what his teammate just say. His optics widened at this possible breakthrough/ "7th Cosmos? That's where the Beast Wars was held at! Hmmmmm, yeah. It's a start, it's a start...." Pandemic started to talk to himself and thinking about the link between the cosmos and the virus. "I have to check up on that." He looks at Silverwing and smiles "Thank you, Silverwing! You've been a great help!" He quickly runs out of the medbay to investigate this new bit of information.
"Primus, he's fucking nerding out." Blackwing groaned while trying to get back to sleep.

Silverfang nodded in response to Pandemic's thanks. "You are welcome my friend... I am glad to help. So far it seems all I have had is a body to smash and a blade to bend in this conflict." He added verbally, feeling it appropriate to admit his own faults to the doctor. Unlike other warriors of a cybertronian form... he did not have the instincts to 'act tough'. He can't help but turn to Mantessa as his smaller friend leaves and comments. "He is passionate, yes... I envy him. That he had to chance to chase his passions... it's a wonderful thing."

Mantessa smiled in agreement. "Yeah. He's so ambitious. Our little go-getter." She gushed as she watches Pandemic leave the room to try out his new findings. Her smile died down a little "Passionate? That's a word for it. He's a little obsessive sure but....I guess he's a little passionate about curing every single disease in existence." She than goes over to Silverfang . "But honestly, I'm just happy he's actually socializing."
"What? Our doctor wasn't much of a bot person?" Darkwing asked while she shoot her cousin a private IM <<I still don't trust him.>>.
Manstessa sighed as she starts to check Silverfang's vitals. "He wouldn't talk to anybody except me, Placebo, and some of the medical staff. If he did, it was about a second. He than would go back to study virus cultures, doing some medical work or reading medical books." She told Blackwing while she placed two fingers on Silverfang's wrist. "That's probably why he likes working with viruses and diseases. They don't judge him or reject him."
"They can kill ya though." Darkwing replied back. Manstessa chuckled at that comment. "That too."

Silverfang gave Dawkwing a small dark look at the private message back. There was time to discuss that later, turning back to Mantessa he nods lightly. "That is understandable. I have... we both have seen how that kind of isolation can destroy a person's worth. I've known of one person with a similar passion... but they were driven to madness and pain. They wished to lash out at those that did not understand them." He explained, thinking of exactly why his cousin didn't trust the virologist. But this was not their world... he would not push Pandemic down the path he had seen him fall through on his own world. His own vitals are getting better, but are still a little on the weak side. He really shouldn't have gotten out of bed at this point, not if he is to heal.

She returned the dark glare right back and listen to the two talk about the virologist. Sure it wasn't their world and everybody they met in their old dimension aren't exactly the same, but she can't shake the feeling that Pandemic might wind up as the same one in their dimension one day. But she was willing to give him the moment of the doubt. If he shows signs of going dark side, she'll cancel his ticket. Permanently. "That's the reason why his sister and I are trying to encourage him to mingle with the others, so he won't wind up somebody we might have to put down someday." Mantessa checks over Silverfang's vitals. She satisfied what she sees. "They're looking great but you still need more rest." She told Silverfang. She looks over at the still awake and grouchy Darkwing. "You too."
"Yes, Mom." Darkwing grumbled. Tracer is wishing he had another room too sleep in right now.

Silverfang nods for a moment, deep in thought. "She means it as a compliment, I assure you Mantessa..." He responds lightly, nodding in his sister's direction. He starts to make his way over to the bed by Slagcruncher, deciding to check in on his teammate for a lack of anything better to do. Of the two, she was the most exposed to this virus after Stronghug had been converted. He couldn't even begin to understand what it was like to have a longtime friend turn on you like that. Even if there had been a valid excuse for those actions, that they were not truly Stronghug's own... it was a lot to take in. And he was sure when they had recovered her and retreated... she showed no signs of the virus. It was the only lucky break of the encounter, that the Destrons had not taken more of their numbers. "Hello Slag..." He called out, not entirely sure if he expected an answer.

Slag more or less had drifted off again mainly from the pain meds that were given to her it had been quite some time that she had drifted off. And she had rested fairly good though she couldn't seem to shake the image of Strong's reaction when she was converted over to the Seacons hearing Stron'g voice calling her, "Slagcrunch come over to our side it's better over than it is over where you are come over to our side old friend.
She rustled in her rest after hearing Strong telling to come over to the Seacon's side her eyes shot up as she sat straight up and holding her head yelled out, "Never I will never go over to the con's side never!" Slag also heard another voice saying hello to her. Slag shook her head really hard to snap herself out of the quickly getting her composer back she looked around to see that Silverfang was the person who had said hello to her, "Oh hum sorry Sliverfang didn't mean to yell out like that, hi you feeling better? and the others on the team are they repaired and ready to go if they are needed?" Slag asked as she shivered a little.

"I would love to get a second crack at those guys! You can't pull that slag and get away with it!" Darkwing growled before feeling a little headed. She decided to take a bit easy and lay back down. Mantessa just rolled her optics in annoyance. She was really want to get back into the field. The nurse went over to Darkwing and check her vitals. "As I told you, Darkwing, you have to take it easy. Going out there right now in your condition isn't going to do anybody any favors." She gently told her patient. "We will get our chance soon enough. Til than, just take it easy." Having no other choices, Darkwing just nodded and started to relax.
"Finally. I can get some slottin peace and quiet."Tracer groaned while reading a manga. "If she didn't shut up soon, I would have did the job myself."
A lime green and purple femme with some Bird like characteristic pokes her head into the door. She has a smile painted on her face. "Excuse me but have you seen my brilliant baby brother?" Needlenose politely asked nobody in particular "It's his cuddle time. Not to mention it's his time to switch shift." She lowers her voice to a whisper, as if she wasn't trying to offend the bot she's about to talk about. "Mutt's been starting to pound on the Energon." Mantessa sighs at the mention of one of the new medics. She really has to get him to deal with his alcoholism sooner or later. Mantessa directs Needlenose to Pandemic's location. She thanks the scientist/medic and proceeds to get Pandemic. The two medics, White Cross and Mutt, come flooding into the room. Mutt is noticeably hung over.
"Seriously, Mutt. Six coolants shooters and a Energon lager is a bit much." White Cross told Mutt. She stands at attention before Mantessa, while Mutt is holding his head and trying to stand at attention. "We're here to relief you and Pandemic, ma'am!"
Mutt groaned "Yeah. Likewise. Oh my head....."
Mantessa giggled. "No need for that, White Cross. Really" She concurred while gesturing her hands "Actually, relief Pandemic. I'm going go through his notes for a while. You two check on our patients for the time being." The two young medics nodded in agreement.
******************************************************* Pandemic was furiously was going over his notes and doing some investigative work regarding the connection of the Seven Cosmos and the cosmic rust. So far he had some luck so far, but not much. "Something's there, something there's. I just have to find it." He told himself "What am I missing?" He was going through a old college by a virologist about cosmic rust until Needlenose snuck up behind him and glomp. It took him completely by surprise. "CUDDLE TIME!" Pandemic shrieked a little.
"Needlenose! Don't do that! Especially when I'm working."
Needlenose mockingly pouted at her adopted younger brother. "But it's cuddle time. You need it. That's what we agreed upon." She told him. "Besides, you've been in this lab too long. Remember, what we say. Eight hours to work..."
"Eight hours to play." Pandemic finished the line "I know, I know but I think I'm on to something. There's a connection between the Seven Cosmos and Cosmic Rust. If I found what the connection is I can find out more about the virus." Needlenose lets him go and sternly looks at him. "Sweetie, working yourself to the wire frame isn't going help anybody. Your notes and your samples will still be here. You can't stay cooped up in here and work all day. You don't have to meet people but at least just rest for a while."
"But...." Needlenose softly shushed him and gently put her hands against his cheeks.
"Mantessa will take care of your studies and the samples. I will make sure nobody touches them. Just promise me you would at least get some energon and some rest. You did more than you should and than some. You earned your right to relax. They'll still be there. I promise."
"Promise?" He innocently asked. She smiles in response.
"I promise." She reassured him. "Now be free, my love."
"I'll let you know when I need you or come across something," Mantessa called out "Now go out and live a little."

A small mew comes from the ground beneath Pandemic as a small techno-organic cat looks up at him. Halfpint paws at the air between them, trying to get the exotically colored opossum's attention. The little sparkling seems to want to play and it seems like as good an idea as any other to take him with Pandemic. Half-pint'll get into trouble on his own if left along after all.

Pandemic heard the mewing and see the techno-organic kitten pawing at him. "Huh? Well hey little guy. How are you?" the young medic greeted the kitten. He gives the kitten a dorky but friendly smile and picks up the kitten. He starts to play with the youngster.

Slag looked around the room there seemed be a lot of bots in the room looks like shift change Slag didn't know many of the bots in the room she kind felt lonely, she had been close friends with Sronghug for a long time she wanted her friend back in the worst way she sighed heavily she didn't know if the Autobot's were going to get her friend back or not did it matter now that she had been turn to the other side?
She pulled her knees up to her chest and she put her head on her knees for a moment. Hearing a meow she looked up looked around to see where the meow came from she saw Pandemic holding something she couldn't quite make out what Pandemic was holding, she took a chance and spoke, Pandemic what are you holding in your arms?" she asked.
