Merry Christmas Everyone!!!!
War Echoes through Christmas
Snow had been falling gently for the past few days. As it was nearing Christmas
Alone figure and its small group of rebels had been out on patrol for the past couple of days. The figure was tired, miserable and chilled to the bone it just wanted to find a nice comfy area and sit by the fire and relax.
The figure hated the cold weather, it liked the warmer weather. The cold weather always reminded it how cold its heart was against the enemy. The war and the enemy had taken away its only thing in life it cherished. But that was many years ago. How much more could it take before it drained itself totally of life and fight in this war?
The figure finally reached the base it sighed deeply thankful to be back home, now to report to the commander then find that nice cozy spot to warm up and relax.
The figure walked to the commander’s office knocking on the door.
“Enter,” was heard from behind the door.
The figure opened the door as it stepped into the office, then stepped over to the front of the desk, “Reporting in from patrol Teela,” the figure said wearily.
Teela looked up form her work, the expression was that would turn something into stone. Teela sighed, “What do you have to report Kay?” Teela asked slightly angry.
Kay flinched at the expression on Teela’s face, she didn’t want to tell Teela that everything was quite and no there wasn’t any activity while she was on patrol. “It has been quite on all fronts, I even checked some of the major areas where it is most active and they seem also to be quite also. I don’t like this it’s been way to quite lately have a feeling something major is going to break loose,” Kay said quietly.
That wasn’t what Teela wanted to here shaking her head in discuss. “Go back out on patrol I want to know what is up with the Snakemen and the other enemies. Don’t come back until you got some information and you are to go alone, now get out of here you worthless piece of crap!” Teela snapped.
Anger instantly flared up Kay’s hand balled into fists, “what do you think I was doing out there for the last couple of days sitting around and goofing off? I was out there freezing my ass off to get the information I’m really sorry if I came up emptied handed,” Kay said angrily.
“Yes Kay it seems as of lately you have been goofing slacking off. It is either quite or hell is knocking at our door, and when hell is knocking at our door you are not around to fight or help the wounded while you are out on patrol and have missed major information also we have loss many good rebels,” Teela growled.
Kat bit back her own growling she didn’t want to get into a fight with Teela if she could totally avoid it but it looked like it wasn’t going to happen. Taking a deep breath to calm down long enough to speak, “Excuse me for living Teela, have you ever though I might have been out of reach to get back to help in fighting and help the wounded when I’m out on patrol or do you expect me just appear at a moment’s notice? I’ll go out again and I might come back either way you will loose the information I’ve gathered if I don’t return.” Kay said angrily as she stormed out of the office.
“Good hope you never come back Kay never needed you anyways you were more a pain in the ass!” Teela yelled at Kay.
Kay just walked away and ignored Teela’s comment as she headed to her quarters. You really think you are at a loose Teela sure you lost someone close to your heart; you just haven’t tried to move on in life. I’ve lost a husband I loved him dearly with my heart and soul he was taken away from me. I’ve tried to move on in life it hurts but its better to move on than staying in the past.
Teela sat back down rubbed her face she hated this time of year, she hated this war more than anything one else, the war had taken her father, the King and Queen and their son whom she was in love with she just wish this war would end and peace be restored.
Rattlor was about ready to head on patrol with a small group of rebels as he rounded the corner heading down the hall where Teela’s office was he kind of heard some shouting then he saw Kay storming down the hallway looking furious.
Kay was mad as all hell, she knew that she wasn’t slacking at all also knew that she had put more time in being out on patrol. Grumbling and sputtering angrily, “damn I’m bone tired don’t even get a chance to warm up have to go back out on patrol worst part is can’t come back until I have major information on what is up with the Snakemen and the other enemies,” Shaking her head grumbling again. “Asking too much form this bone tired rebel, screw the rebels who needs them? Hell I might as well get out of here while I have the chance.” Kay grumbled, as she was about to round the corner heading down the hallway to her quarters didn’t even notice Rattlor.
Vyper looked out the window of her chambers there had been no activity form the humans for sometime it has seemed like they had been busy with the other enemies. She needed to know what was going on.
She summoned her one trusted general to the war room. Snake Face too a seat at the table with a few of the troopers. “Ssnake face form a ssmall group and ssee what is up with the humanss, they have been to quite for my liking,” Vyper hissed.
“Yess my queen,” Snake Face said as he left the war room, together with a small group of Snakemen trooper they headed out see what they could find for their queen.
Rattlor took caution as he walked behind Kay back to her quarters, “ssomething wrong Kay?” He asked quietly.
Hearing Rattlor she just ignored him walking into her quarters she grabbed dry clothing, walking to the bathroom quickly slipped out of her armor then wet clothes, she quickly showered to warm up, and then quickly dressed.
Rattlor walked into the Kay’s quarters he didn’t like the fact that Kay ignored him he knew something was wrong and he was gin got find out, he waited for Kay to step out of the bathroom.
She stepped out of the bathroom, walked over to her combat corner Kay grabbed her largest backpack she quickly filled it with the needed supplies that she was going to need and also grabbed her small tent that she used as shelter on the long patrols that were more than a couple of days.
Rattlor walked over to Kay as he gently grabbed her arm, “what iss wrong Kay?” He asked sternly.
Kay pushed Rattlor away and finished up packing closing the off the backpack and then she swung the backpack on her back grabbing her rifle and the extra ammo. Finally looking at Rattlor fire and sadness could be seen in her eyes, “talk to Teela, sending me back out on patrol alone until I find major information as to what the Snakemen and the other enemies are up to. I might not be away for sometime. I might not even come back, because and I don’t know if Teela realizes that she just sealed my fate because to get information on the Snakemen I have to penetrate their front lines and get into their base.
Don’t even try to stop me Rattlor. Teela thinks I’ve been slaking saying I’m not around when hell is knocking at our door and not helping the wounded and we have lost many good Rebels. I bid you good-bye Rattlor it has been a pleasure severing with you and also being the best of friends,” Kay said sadly as she lightly kisses Rattlor on the lips then quickly left the base with her pet companion Pepper and headed to the Snakemen lair.
Rattlor was furious at what Teela did to Kay. He calmly walked to Teela’s office without knocking he stepped in and walked over to her desk and slammed his hands on the desk.
Kay was a couple of miles out form the base looking up at the sky it would dark soon and she needed to keep going as far as she could go before it got dark then bed down for the night.
Teela slammed her hands on the desk standing up growling at Rattlor, “what the hell do you want Rattlor? Don’t have time for you, and if it has anything to do with Kay I don’t want to hear it point blank!” Teela snapped angrily.
There is one you don’t want to do and that is to piss off a Sankeman in which Teela did so.
Rattlor hissed angrily at Teela, he reached over the desk grabbing Teela and hoisted her up in the air glaring angrily deeply into her eyes, “lissten and lissten good I’m not going to ssay thiss again. You’ve just pisssed me off…Kay hass been here for everyone ssince I can remember and you damn well know that and you sshut her and kick her out just like that? Thiss is not like you Teela,” Rattlor hissed angrily. He spoke again not giving Teela a chance to speak.
“I think ssomeone sshould pull their head out of their asss and try to move on in life. Kay hass tried her best to move on without her husband and hass tried to help you ass well. I’ve done that mysself and nott live in the past like you have. Sstraighten up that cocky attitude of yourss or I will take you over my knee,” Rattlor hissed at Teela.
Kay walked until it was just starting to get dark she found a spot to say for the night unpacked what she needed for herself and Pepper once they had a little bite to eat they settled down for the night, Kay always slept lightly when she was on patrol for more than a couple of days.
Pepper settled down right next to Kay for the night.
Teela was shocked at the aggression that Rattlor showed, “No you wouldn’t dare to put me over your knee Rattlor and I plain refuse to move on there is hope that father and Adam will return,” Teela snapped.
Rattlor shook his head sitting down he put Teela over his knee, and smacked her ass a couple of times, “How about that Teela you better sstraighten up that attitude. It won’t help you, it hass been like 10 yearss or better since Adam and the others have been gone face it they are not coming back Teela,” Rattlor said angrily letting Teela go he calmly walked out of the office.
In the far corner of the office another lone figure stood in the shadows, it also shook its head before speaking, “Rattlor has a good point better face it Teela you know just as well as any of them Adam and the others are not coming back. I know it hurts Teela we all miss them and it’s hard to accept but you have and move on in life don’t live in the past.
Take a hard look at Kay, she has lost the only thing in her life that she loved dearly, she has tried to move on in life and she is doing well, Never shut someone out, Kay has helped more than you know Teela, let her help you deal with the loss of Adam and the others,” the figure said as it disappeared leaving Teela to her thoughts of Rattlor and what it said to Teela.
Rattlor grabbed his gear and a small group of men as he headed out for his patrol it would be morning before he would start looking for Kay.
Kay slept fairly well during the night she ached from the cold. Just before dawn she moved out from where she had stayed for the night, as Kay headed towards the Snakemen’s outer perimeter.
A small patrol of Snakemen had been out patrolling since early dawn. The Snakemen were approaching one of the main perimeters that was pretty active, stopping as they thought that they heard something as they listened.
Kay wasn’t aware of the coming danger she quietly crept along the path.
The patrol did hear something in the brush; the head trooper motioned the others to surround the intruder.
Pepper’s ears perked as she heard something in the brush, he stayed close to Kay.
The Snakemen moved out quietly to surround whoever was out there, they saw who the person was this would please the queen greatly moving closer to the human.
Rattlor had set out first light to track down Kay he hoped he would be able to help her in time. He knew how brutal the Snakemen would be with torture getting information they wanted, he moved as fast as he could through the snow bound jungle.
Kay froze she head something in the brush pulling out her weapon, bracing herself for a fight.
