Was inspired to set this up last night, but here's the deal for this. Take two or three of the older fan cybertronians in game... then write a small dialogue/writing excerpt for them in the older days.
Like for example, this one I did up today using Embyr's Shana/Callback and Pat's Makeshift:
"So did you hear about those new techno-organic shells?"
Callback blinked her optics for a moment, caught off-guard by the sudden question. The Gumbert Apollo Autobot had been focusing way too much on her assignment datapad to catch her team-mate Makeshift's comment immediately, but as she regained her composure... she couldn't help but groan lightly. "Of course I have Media... it's why I've been looking into understanding the research you've been working on. My division's likely to go the way of the petro-rabbit with all this new research into mimicing organics. No one's going to need a prostetic limb or technological enhancement if they can start regrowing their own limbs." She replies, rubbing her face lightly.
Makeshift just chuckles lightly, mixing her energon drink around slightly in response. "You really trust our race to embrace organics that quickly? Almost every innovation we come up with tends to have it's detractors... as well as potential problems with it's use. Just look at the combiners for one example... there's increased strength and size, sure. but the overall 'new' cybertronian is dumber and single minded. The one exception to the rule runs into the problem of the exact opposite end of the spectrum and thinks too much." She pauses for a moment, contemplating.
Callback raises an eyebrow lightly in response. "That's true... I don't know. I just feel like I could be obsolete in the near future.. . and I don't know how I could live with that. I enjoy my work and it helps keep the day going strong." She pauses for a moment, thoughtful. "Though I guess you're right as well... we aren't becoming purely organic after all, more a mesh. Maybe I could look into adapting my technology to being more compatible with organics?..."
Makeshift smirked for a moment before responding. "How did I know you were going to say that?" Inwardly, she couldn't help but give herself a pat on the back for another successful implementation.
Callback laughs lightly in response before smirking back. "Well I don't know... maybe you're the one who sent me down that line of thought?... Thanks Makeshift." Inwardly, she's already figuring out what she needs to do as she stands up.
Makeshift just giggles in response, commenting back. "Not a problem. We scientists need to stick together, aye?"
Basically you would use their backstory as the basis for the personality... just as an interesting little thing to do. Though I figure in most cases... unless you guys want to ok their use in this thread, PM the people who game these characters first before writing.
Here's the list of ones so far in game...
